Leprosy

 

Throughout the Many Worlds the affliction of leprosy strikes down many people. The cause for the illness is yet unknown. It strikes down the hale and hearty as often as the weak and frail. The body of those that are stricken by this scourge begin to bruise and weaken. As its ravages continue eventually the body withers and fails.

 

There are many beliefs about who leprosy afflicts and how it chooses its victim. Some believe that it is caused by transgressions that the unfortunate person has made against their faith and some believe that it is an ancient curse that is wrought against the innocent with malicious intent.

 

Every nation has different opinions of lepers and holds them in different standing with regard to their rights within society, but most shun them to a lesser or greater or drastic degree.
